Elephant seals

Elephant seals can get up to 8,800 pounds. With an ideal of 40% body fat, as per Discovery magazine, the elephant seal is one of the most relatively fat animals on the planet. While on land, elephant seals use up fat stores that they replenish out at sea, improving their buoyancy so they can spend less energy swimming and more time foraging. They can also weigh up to 4.5 tons and be up to 20 feet tall.
Southern elephant seals feed exclusively at sea. The main sources of food are fish and squid. Prey is captured both near the surface and very deep underwater. The seals have been known to eat bottom dwelling fish from the ocean’s darkest depths.

Brown bears

They are oftentimes considered obese animal. Fitting the definition of obese at times, hibernating brown bears pack on the pounds during the summer months so they can stay warm during the winter months. As per National Geographic, these creatures typically weigh around 800 pounds.
Every year, Alaska’s Katmai National Park holds its Fattest Bear competition, where fans can vote for which bear gained the most amount of weight that season. 2018’s winner was 409 Beadnose.

 Oshine the orangutan

Swing from tree to tree? You have got to be kidding. Oshine, the overweight orangutan loved gorging on sweets, jelly and marshmallows at home in South Africa. She had been raised since a baby by a well-meaning couple with no clue about her regular diet – leaving her double her natural weight at over 15st. But now keepers at her new home of Monkey World in Dorset have put the lass on a diet of fruit and veg.

Roly Poly the hedgehog

Roly Poly the hedgehog so fat he’s been put on a diet after doctors declared him officially obese. Tipping the scales at a whopping 2kg. Over three times the size of a normal hedgehog the animal is so fat it can no longer roll into a ball. Mammoth Roly ballooned in size after gorging on cat food left out by a well-meaning retired couple. The couple from Minehead, Somerset found the animal in their garage late last year wrapped up in an old Father Christmas jacket.

The goldfish

This fat goldfish is off the scale! Thanks to a problem with his intestines, the blubbery bubble-blower could barely stay afloat as he piled on the pounds. YouTube user Tipownsyou uploaded the crazy clip of his eight-year-old pet in January 2007. He has since come back to update the video with the sad news that the little fella has died.

Contrary to the popular myth, camels’ humps are used to store fat, not water. According to Live Science, humps can store up to 80 pounds of fat as an emergency food supply in case the camel can’t find sustenance for a long period of time. Goliath Beetle

The titan beetle is the largest known beetle in the Amazon rain forest and one of the largest insect species in the world. They can grow up to 6.6 inches in length. This gargantuan insect has mandibles that can easily snap a pencil in half, and reportedly they can rip into human flesh, too.

But the fattest one is hiding in the undergrowth of African tropical forests, Goliath Beetles take the top spot as the heaviest insect in the world! They weigh up to 3.5 ounces which is 100 g, grow to a length of 4.5 inches or 11.5 cm and are brown/black/white in color.

A pig weighing 961 kilos has won Taiwan’s fattest pig contest, making it the biggest on the island for 200 years. Farmer Chen Cheng Sung raised the monster porker in his village. But after a ceremony the one-and-a-half year old pig was slaughtered to be eaten by Chen’s family and friends.

Another “huge but healthy pig”, who has recently been on a diet, now weighs almost four times heavier than a normal hog at an impressive 925lbs. His three year-old mating partner meanwhile, tips the scales at an astonishing 670lbs.
