The 20-foot great white shark later turned to devour on her headless torso. Rodney Fox

While defending his spear fishing championship title in the summer of 1963, Rodney Fox was attacked by a great white shark off Aldinga Beach in southern Australia. He was badly bitten around the chest and arm, but lucky enough he survived after long hospital treatment. Rodney is regarded as a miracle survivor of one of the world’s worst no-fatal shark attacks. And from the jaws of a shark, Rodney later invented and also discovered the true nature of sharks. He spends his life trying to educate people and save these creatures.

Omar Conger

While diving with a friend off the coast of Santa Cruz, 29 year old Omar Conger was attacked and mortally wounded by a shark. Conger, who escaped from the shark, was dragged onto the shore by his friends, but the damage had already happened. Despite friends’s efforts to save him, Conger bled out and died on the beach. This tragic incidence received the most media attention, and that particular year has since been noted as a dangerous one for swimmers in the Santa Cruz area.

Randall fry

We go to California to tell a scary story of another brutal attack on Randall Fry, an avid lover of all ocean activities. While Randall was diving with his friend Cliff Zimerman off Mendicino Coast on a Sunday afternoon, he was suddenly attacked by a shark. His friend Zimmerman reportedly heard a whooshing sound before noticing blood-filled water around him. He escaped back to his boat, but Randall wasn’t lucky. A search by the rescue team later found Randall’s head separate from his body.

Back to the waters of California is the case of diving for sea snails and, of course, another shark attack. We just didn’t know that sometimes diving can be so dangerous! Back in 1959, while Pampin was diving with his friend Gerald Lehrer at the coast of Sandiego, he suddenly screamed loudly and disappeared beneath the waters. When Lehrer went before him, he reportedly saw Pampin stuck in a shark’s mouth. He called the rescue team, but they couldn’t find him; he seemed to have been completely devoured by the shark!

The USS Indianapolis

Up until 1945, the USS Indianapolis had not suffered such massive loss of life as it did during the sinking of the USS Indianapolis as a result of a shark attack. On return after delivering the parts of the atomic bomb used in combat, it was hit by the Japanese torpedoes and sank in 12 minutes. About 900 men found themselves in the shark-infested waters, and by the time rescuers arrived, the sharks had feasted on much of the crew. Only 317 people survived, many of whom told chilling stories of scary nightmares they had of people being eaten by sharks.

This man, Vance Fitzgerald, might have won the uncle of the year award when he battled a shark to retrieve his nephew’s arm after it had been bitten off by a shark. While paddling in shallow waters off the coast of Florida, 8-year-old Jessie’s left arm was taken off by a shark and left deep gashes on his legs. While Jessie was rushed to the hospital, his uncle rushed to the sea and wrestled the shark to the beach, where a park ranger shot it dead. Slitting the shark’s throat, Vance retrieved the boy’s arm, put it in ice, and rushed it to the hospital. And guess what! After a grueling 12-hour surgery, Jessie was reunited with his arm.

David Lilienfeld

While surfing with his brother off the coast of South Africa’s False Bay, David Lilienfeld, a great surfer, was dragged underwater by a great white shark that tore off his right leg. His brother watched in horror as the water around him turned red. Unfortunately, by the time paramedics brought him on the shore, he was already dead. The community later accused the film crew that had previously been throwing fish parts into the sea in an attempt to attract sharks to their boats for bringing sharks into the area.

But all that changed one fateful fortnight when a string of shark attacks occurred in the jersey show USA, cementing the sharks image as the most dangerous mofos in the ocean. When Krishna and his wife went to the Bahamas to celebrate their tenth anniversary, Thompson once set out alone on an early morning to swim. He was suddenly bit by a shark on his leg, and it dragged him onto the ocean. He pulled his leg off the shark’s mouth and gave it a few punches, scaring it away. Henri Bource

Well, this may be one of the best shark attacks on this list, probably because part of it was actually captured on film. In 1964, when armature and underwater photographer Henri Bources and two of his friends were playing with some seals in the ocean off Lady Julia Percy Island in Australia, a great white suddenly came from under Bource and took off his leg. His diving partners screamed when they saw Bource’s leg floating under water. They got him out onto the shore, got his blood type, and he survived the whole ordeal.

Dolphins to the rescue

A swam of dolphins suddenly surrounded Rob howes and other friends while swimming 100m off the ocean beach in new Zeeland. At first he thought the mammals were being playful, but they noticed the danger they were in when they started to herd them up. A 3-meter (10-foot) great white shark was heading towards them. A rescue boat soon approached them, driving the shark way, preventing the worst-case scenario. They then realized the dolphins were acting strangely to prevent the shark from attacking them.

Sharks are fearless, and they take bites on anything they are curious about to decide whether it’s edible or not. You’ll wonder whether they have an IQ of their own. The historic California attack

California is the land of sunshine, easy living, surfing, and, of course, SHARKS. However, it wasn’t until 1952 that a fatal attack on a human was recorded. At only 17 years of age, Wilson, a talented tuber player, was swimming with his friends when he was attacked by a shark. Wilson was gruesomely injured, and the rough water increases the difficulty of the rescue. During the 20-minute plus rescue effort, the shark continued to toss him up and shake him side by side, and when he was brought to the shore, the young man was no more!

This 24-year-old high school teacher was preparing for a spearfishing competition in the waters of the Yorke Peninsula in southern Australia, but a fire warning forced them to move to Gold Coast Beach. While Sam was fishing, his friends heard an aloud scream, and he suddenly disappeared. He had been eaten whole! by a hungry shark. He had been totally devoured, and no trace of him was left except a pool of blood at the place that he was last seen.

Heather Boswell

Heather Boswell was a 19-year-old who was part of the crew on the discovery that had dropped anchor in the South Pacific to take part in some recreational swimming. Moments after entering the water, a great white shark attacked Heather and savored her left leg. Fellow crew members beat off the shark with a stick and pulled her off the shark’s mouth onto the boat. Luckily, all the crew members survived the attack and have lived to tell the horrific story.

This famous Australian surfer who was competing in the J-bay open finals in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa, unfortunately encountered a white shark. The defending third-time world champion said he was just sitting there and felt something stuck in his leg rope, and when he kicked to try chase it away, he saw fins and suddenly was knocked off his surfing board. The live event saw fans watch in horror as Nick repeatedly punished the shark in the waters. The shark swum away, and Nick escaped completely uninjured. That’s what we call luck!
